"At the Edge of the Woods" It was a beautiful frosty morning. While photographing intimate portraits of old oaks, spotted The great spotted woodpecker about, and was lucky enough to capture his beautiful colours with old oaks kissed by early winter light in the background.
"Accompanied by The Cranes" On this autumn evening I was lying on the shore of the Humber waiting for the tide to come in and thinking about the cranes. Those in the background, but also those that disappeared from the British Isles a long time ago. In the picture above is a lone Curlew, whose UK breeding population in the last 25 years has been nearly halved... I think I was trying to capture his solitude and our big footprint we left in his habitat.
